The First Step
The first step is always the hardest! Are you the type of student who steps outside? Some are more gregarious than others, so it comes more easily to them initially, but we always attract a mix of introverted and more extroverted students. Everyone builds upon where they start, and regardless of where they begin, their maturation process is rapid while at NJC. The beauty of our school community is that every single student begins on the same footing. We have no other Grades, so it is a place to begin with a blank slate, be who you truly are, and make friends while building yourself personally. At NJC, as a single-year school, there are no pre-existing circles of friends to penetrate and, as a result, students bond very quickly and profoundly. There is also an underlying respect for others within our community. Students learn together, travel together and experience everything—including personal growth—together.

While living in Switzerland in a French community, students enjoy an international education through travel and experiential learning in Europe.
