John is a passionate foodie, globe trekker and writer whose educational philosophy is rooted in student success and student experiences.
 
Teaching everything from grades 5-12 in over five countries, John is well versed in a variety of subjects including History, English literature, and Political Science. John is also a recent Master’s graduate from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario where he specialized in cultivating critical and creative experiences within the classroom environment. Previous to his Masters of Education, John studied a Bachelors of Education at the University of Alberta, and an Honour Bachelors of Arts in history at Queen’s University. 
 
John has also worked in a variety of positions outside of education, including as a financial analyst, sommelier, greenskeeper and salesperson. He has also worked as an academic tutor for struggling athletes, football (soccer) coach, and as a one-on-one language teacher.
